Of course it depends on the level of qualifications, the student may through doing a report contribute to the critical re-focusing of staff on a range of key issues by:
- interviewing key clinical area members to formulate an understanding of the extent to which ideas, values, principles are shared
- review of key policy documentation in relation to Trust and clinical area interpretations of it
- review of related literatures in order to formulate the key debates and show the relevance of those debates for day to day practice in their placement area
- Exploring staff rationales for their actions in order to generate practice based theory triangulated across the staff and in relation to other research
